We seek a skilled Backend Developer with experience in Python Django to join our growing team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in API integration, specifically working with EPIC HIS (Healthcare Information Systems) and Mirth Connect for healthcare data exchange.
The candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining the backend services that ensure seamless integration between various healthcare systems.
Responsibilities :
– Develop and maintain scalable, robust backend systems using Python and Django framework.
– Integrate EPIC HIS with other healthcare systems via APIs using FHIR, HL7, and other relevant standards.
– Work with Mirth Connect to manage data transformations and interface engines for secure and efficient data exchange between healthcare systems.
– Build and maintain RESTful APIs and web services to support front-end and third-party integrations.
– Ensure data security and HIPAA compliance during all data exchanges and storage.
– Optimize and scale backend services to handle growing data and traffic.
– Collaborate with front-end developers, data scientists, and system administrators to ensure smooth integration across the stack.
– Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
– Debug and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, integration issues, and data exchange problems.
– Participate in code reviews and ensure the development of high-quality, secure solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
– 3+ years of experience as a backend developer with expertise in Python Django.
– Strong hands-on experience with API development and integration.
– Experience working with EPIC HIS (Healthcare Information Systems) and knowledge of EPIC APIs, FHIR, and HL7.
– Experience with Mirth Connect (or similar interface engines) for healthcare data integration.
– Solid understanding of relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL.
– Knowledge of data security, encryption, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
– Proficient in using Git and version control systems.
– Experience in designing and working with relational databases and scalable backend architectures.
– Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and deployment of Django applications in cloud environments.
– Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
– Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications :
– Experience working in a healthcare IT environment.
– Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
– Understanding of front-end technologies like React or Vuejs (to collaborate with front-end teams).
